During a solemn Mass celebrated on the Solemnity of All Saints (1 November 2025) in the context of the Jubilee of the World of Education, Pope Leo XIV proclaimed Saint John Henry Newman a Doctor of the Universal Church.
The Spiritual Family The Work, through its International Centre of Newman Friends, has been contributing for 50 years to make this great English Saint known, loved, studied and venerated. Together with the Episcopal Conference of England and Wales, the Confederation of the Oratory of Saint Philipp and many others, The Work has been actively involved in promoting Newman’s proclamation as Doctor of the Church. The fact that this proclamation coincides with the Golden Jubilee of the Newman Centre is an eloquent sign of providence.
